Adobe Premiere Pro CC On Windows, Blackmagic's full resolution (1920 x 1080) professional quality compressed HD codec can capture JPEG AVI files in real time using Premiere Pro.

Blackmagic's Online JPEG is so efficient that full motion 1080i HD video can be recorded at only 12 MB per second vs. A massive 119 MB per second for uncompressed HD video. After Effects CC Intensity even allows high end design and effects work, great for the special effects you've always wanted in Independent Films, use After Effects CC, Combustion™, Photoshop CC and more.

Intensity also includes an RGB QuickTime™ preview output for After Effects and Fusion. And, you can always preview on the video-out interactively as you design and then play pre-renders using real time ram preview. When rendering your project, processing quality using the Blackmagic codec is full 16 bit, so you always get the advantage of uncompressed video.

QuickTime and WDM Intensity supports QuickTime on Mac, and WDM and DirectShow on Windows so you can capture high quality video straight into other audio or video applications so is compatible with virtually all software on Mac and Windows! Intensity includes Blackmagic Design’s Desktop Video SDK free of charge for Mac, Windows and Linux. Blackmagic Design Intensity Driver

Rated 4 out of 5 by geoval from Works For Me Despite all the negative reviews this card works as advertised. I'm no techie but had zero issues installing. I have an HP Z420 Workstation, Firepro GPU, Dell U2415 monitor. I use the Intensity for color grading and I'm very happy with it. Tested and works beautifully with Sony Catalyst Browser and Vegas Pro 13! I have not captured anything with it yet so I will update review when I do.

I didn't give it 5 stars because you need an SSD hard drive to do 4K and no mention of that in the requirement. Bottom line: this card just works. No wonder B&H used the Intensity Pro 4K on their turnkey systems. Rated 1 out of 5 by agc-media from VERY NOISY I wish I could read one of the feedback before buying, this Card is the perfect example of Blackmagic, they pull products in beta stage and release firmware and updates later, making the product useless for the first half of the year, eventually will work as promised for the time being I did run out of time for return the product, I just did not have time to tested within the money back period with the excellent service and advice of the B&H people. That being said the card made look my computer 10 years old so noisy that my family new I was in the computer from the other room, I did pull out the card and I will wait some months for a new upgrade or some hope it will work as expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VideoPro Houston from simply works! IDK its a capture and playback card that works as it should. I am able to play back UHD and even down convert to 10bit HD through HDMI without any hicups. Its color accurate. With a PA249 I was able to grade a UHD film using CC2015 and Resolve.

What I saw on the monitor was what I saw in the theater and what I heard through my studio speakers was what I heard in the theater from the exported DCP so. Yeah, It works great. Also capturing our old VHS tapes of the kids and old weddings and have no issue capturing uncompressed 8bit through component/composite. The only issue I had was with driver set 10.6.2 Audio failed to play back in windows but not in apps.

Reset back to 10.5.4 and I'm back in business. Oh also works in Edius, AVID, and CC2015. Edius 4k is sweet and fluid especially when using Sony's XAVC codec from FS5, FS7 and Alpha series DSLRs A7s,Sii, R, Rii which Premiere pro still has difficulty playing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JAM from Works Great with Davinci Resolve I don't use this card for importing video so I'm not sure if it's a good card for that, however, I can tell you this card works great for outputting 4K UHD from DaVinci Resolve to a 4K UHD monitor. I'm using it in a 2009 Mac Pro with an HP Z27s 4K UHD monitor. I was able to install it and use it no problem with DaVinci Resolve version 11 (12 is coming out soon). As for the noise (as other people have commented), it is noisy. I don't mind it as much as the other reviewers but it will make your computer sound like it's from the 80's. I'm a bit nostalgic for the 80's so I've learned to live with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by VintageComputing from Great hardware plagued by fatal software issues Over-nighted one from B&H for capturing a live speaker presentation. When it worked, it worked well. Very high quality. Good functionality in software. Lots of analog support which came in handy as well. Mario and sonic at the olympic games. Quirky though. When you switch resolutions on the sending device, sometimes a dialog would pop-up on the capture PC asking if you wanted to save the resolution change.

When the dialog was up, no video output on the loop through which left me scratching my head a few times wondering why it would work then not work; back and forth. Finally had to keep the SW in the foreground and keep checking it. The one star is for it's most critical issue. It would drop frames periodically in every speaker session at regular intervals from 5 minutes to every 20-30 seconds.

Each time it dropped a frame, the capture would stop and a modal dialog would appear. I had to constantly click through the dialog and restart capture. Over 30 clips for one 1 hour speaker and left with gaps in the time line.

This makes it completely unusable for anything. BM please fix.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Poor Support I have read several forum posts on black magic's site, it just isn't working. There is no official support on the forum. Here are a few threads: I have sent two twitter messages but have heard nothing.

I think this card will work, but BM needs to address people's problems. Also the card is really loud, high pitch annoying. My nearly silent computer is not silent anymore. Rated 5 out of 5 by Clay the Walker from works perfect for me With the update of El Capitan on my 2012 Mac Pro, I discovered that my AJA Kona hardware would not work any more. And it had been dragging for quite some time with Premiere CC so it was time to upgrade. I read the reviews on this BM card and was concerned that it might not work correctly.

I installed the card and software. I did notice the fan noise on the card on the first reboot until the machine prompted me to update the firmware. That update ran and the car operates silently now. I have the HDMI attached to my Panasonic LH2170P monitor, the S/DPIF audio connected to my Flying Cow converter and I am noticing no lag with Premiere Pro. Amazing inexpensive upgrade - wish I had done it sooner!
